25 Days Left: This is what it looks like when us visual people write arrangements! Tomorrow is my first rehearsal with the musicians for my recording, and I've spent the last few weeks studying the instrumentation and production of some of my most favorite songs, including work by @jeanrohe and @dianagameros. Day One Complete
26 Days Left: I'm blown away by all of you. In just over a day, we've raised over $1,000, over 15% of my project's total cost.
But what touches me the most are two other numbers - 24 people have donated in the past day, and 128 (!!!) people have shared my project with on Facebook, sharing it with their larger community. I am deeply honored by this! And, so excited to be working for you all for the next 2 months of this project, you my new employers. : D : D : D
I'll be thanking each of you here on Facebook, and also in the next month introducing you all to people here in my EP Family, and sharing my process as I prepare to record April 7th. I'm polishing the first Family Portrait, later today!
Today is the day!
This morning I got up at sunrise to cross a new threshold, launching this community funding campaign. This project will be a long awaited record of music I've written, but it's also record of my relationships with all of YOU, the people I've learned and played and created with. I'm already filled with gratitude as I begin, standing with 18 friends and family members who will be sharing and donating today to get me started. Let the adventure begin!
