$1100 to go!

This is kinda like New Years Eve... $1100 left to go tonight!
And, it feels so good to reconnect in thanks with the constellation of people who have been with me all along the musical road.

Here's a little highlight from yesterday's streaming lunchtime concert, Brown Bag in B-flat with Ami Nashimoto, Eva Vander Giessen and Mochi the dog, a member of our inter-species audience. Because of YOU, bright clear good audio for this song will be a reality!

Together, we are $33 away.

Wow.

In our last day, we are just $1700 short of my full budget for the EP and videos. If everyone reading this email gave $33 or more, we'd reach the full $7,000 goal. Here's a behind the scenes look at what I'm crafting with each of your dollars.

And I can't help but share a beautiful story - I just received a $500 donation from my old boss, Edie, whom haven't seen in years. Though this fundraiser has run for 27 days, I can how the river runs back to every interaction I've had with each of my donors. "Melanie, your way of being in the world is just as important as this music, and that has been a gift to me for over 5 years."

What a gift to ME, hearing this! I know that as people come to me in the future to talk about running a funding campaign, I can tell them it starts TODAY. Which is the same as the music, actually -  The seed a the recording or the performance lives inside me playing, TODAY. How wonderful, no not have to wait.

You can join my project on the last day, here.

Love like a thousand stars,
Melanie

2 days left, and in my EP family, Diana

This afternoon I had a rehearsal with the musicians who will join me in recording next week. It was stunning - my music feels like it is standing up on its own two legs, living in the soundscape I've dreamed about for a long while. Among the musicians is my beloved friend Diana Gameros, a phenomenal songwriter, guitarist and vocalist. I'm so grateful for all I've learned from Diana about being a citizen artist, creating beauty and joy in the face of what is dark and heavy, to transform what is dark and heavy. To do my practice as a musician with the same level of focus and dedication that I see in other activists as they contribute to transformation in this world.  And, to walk with gratitude all the way. Te amo, Diana preciosa! More on her work at dianagameros.com
