Today my weekly check-in with my pre-production producer, Rachel Efron, felt like a bit of a celebration. This week marks the first time in months that I've been able to play songs guitar again, after letting my fractured pinkie rest and mend. Funny how these types of injuries always seem to show up just as I've (we've?) made a commitment to finish something. But this morning while playing I learned that the last months of just simply hanging out with metronome and writing songs...worked. I can play with much more dependable groove and ease, instead of fighting with time and tempo. I can see once again the total frustration of one door closing is a hard right turn into something else, something that likely contributes.
I hope I remember this!
